Definitely Five Stars

We ordered a Dik Geurts DG Ivar 5 from Stovefitters. Through no fault of their own they were not able to supply the log burner in time to meet our deadline so we switched the order to a Hetas Inspire 40. Throughout the process Julian was very helpful, he responded very quickly to texts and refunded the difference in price between the two stoves very quickly. The stove was delivered on the day specified. The delivery company took on board that we live down a very narrow lane and sent a vehicle capable of getting down it. The driver dropped it at the door as agreed and we managed to haul it into the house without too much difficulty. The stove is beautiful. A very simple Scandi design which is just what we wanted. We have used it a couple of times. It’s straightforward to light using the upside down method recommended. It looks great when burning through the uncluttered glass door and gives out lots of heat. It’s perfect for our relatively small lounge. We highly recommend the stove and the Stovefitters service. Thank you Julian

About the Heta Inspire 40 Wood Burning Stove

The Heta Inspire 40 is a modern 5kW stove and is manufactured in Denmark. The stove is very solid (thick steel) and has an excellent efficiency rating (81%). Customers particularly like the clean lines.

We did not choose this stove as is usually the case - this stove was chosen by our customers. We added the Heta Inspire to our site following a particularly high demand for quotes for the stove from our customers, despite the fact that it was not on our website - this being a sure sign that a stove is a potential winner :-)

The sister model, the Heta Inspire 45, is amongst our best selling stoves (Winter 2019) and was third most searched for stove when we look at our search statistics.

Customers have a knack of sniffing out the best stoves and are certainly pointing other customers towards the Heta Inspire range.

Specifications

Output & Fuel

Nominal 5kW
Max. 6kW

This stove will run happily at 2-6kW depending on fuel load.

This stove can burn wood or smokeless fuel without any modification.

Eco Credentials

This stove meets and exceeds the new 2022 Ecodesign regulations

This stove is approved by DEFRA to burn wood in a Smoke Control Area

Efficiency

81% (as a rough guide 81% of heat goes to the room with 19% going up the chimney).

Don't overthink efficiency. 75%-85% is fine and 90%+ efficiency may not work so well on shorter or difficult chimneys.

External Air

Yes, this stove can be fitted with an external air kit (draws air from outside via pipe direct to stove). Usually this option is not relevant unless a room air-vent is required and the property is airtight (by design or choice).

See "Customers Also Bought".

Body & Door

Steel stove (5-year body guarantee) with steel door

What to buy steel or cast-iron? Do not overthink. Steel heats fast. Cast-iron takes a little longer but retains heat longer as fire dies.

Hearth

Hearth thickness: minimum 12mm non-combustible material (can include floor thickness).

Air Gaps

Distance to combustibles SIDE: 400mm
Distance to combustibles REAR: 190mm

To non-combustibles there are no hard rules but, around the stove, a 50mm minimum air gap is recommended to brick/stone. This to be increased to 100mm for rendered or boarded surfaces. Prior to purchasing any stove download the installation manual to check that manufacturers do not have any additional requirements.

Delivery Promise

We offer 14 days from delivery to report any courier damage to your stove. If a stove is damaged by the courier we will replace or refund as desired.

Guarantee

Manufacturer's Guarantee

The manufacturer offers a 5 year body guarantee

Glass

Why do we sell glass insurance (pre-ticked box close to ADD TO CART button)? Because glass is classed, in the stoves industry, as a consumable item and not covered under ANY guarantee by any manufacture for any reason whatsoever. If it breaks or cracks on day one or day twenty it is not covered. If the inside of the glass goes cloudy or gets any kind of surface coating or etching then it is not covered (it will be to do with what you are burning according to manufacturers and glass makers). Glass usually costs £30-£60 plus postage but can be more on higher end models.

Performance

Defra-approved or/and Ecodesign stoves are designed and thoroughly tested before being allowed onto the market and every stove sold is identical. In the rare event a stove does not perform as well as expected it is always down to the installation, the chimney or circumstances unique to the property (pressure imbalances caused by local conditions, down drafts etc.). Here at Stovefitter's we have taken stoves back on a number of occasions for testing on our chimney and in every situation the stoves performed as expected (we may of course find a faulty stove one day but never as yet). We may, at our discretion, take a stove back once it has been used and in this situation a 50% refund would be provided (stove would be sold as second hand). We would, however, offer a 33% refund on a replacement stove.

£ PRICE MATCH £

We will happily strive to match any price you may have from any other supplier as long as the other supplier has it in stock.
Offered an "ex-display" or "shop soiled"? We will strive to offer you a new stove for the same price.

Already have a chimney? You need 1. Stove 2. Liner 3. Fitting Pack 4. Chimney closure plate (Hardiebacker board from Builder's merchants or galvanised sheet). That's it!
No chimney? Check out our shed kits or let us design your clip-together chimney design - easy peasy.
