To strengthen flue pipe connections use short metal to metal self tappers, available in our Useful Items collection
As with all vitreous pipe the bottom end narrows to a lesser diameter to enable insertion into other pieces of pipe (male is always on top). Key reason is that any condensation that trickles down inside pipe cannot escape. Straight lengths can be cut using a grinder and 115mm cutting disc (available from this online store).Top tip: No fire cement or glue of any kind is used when connecting vitreous pipe to vitreous pipe - it is just push-fit. When to use fire cement on flue joints? Use the SEARCH function and type "sealing flue joints".
Very helpful website and staff...
An excellent quality of product. Fits together perfectly with the stove and other pipes that I purchased at the same time and has a great colour to its finish.
Would always to buy products from Julians website, the quality is far superior to most others. You will notice the difference when you try to connect male to female parts, as I did initially, having purchased locally.
I have been ordering from these guys for a couple of years now and the service is always spot on. Sound advice, great prices, quick delivery and a flexible attitude. I would highly recommend them to others.
I started the process of looking for a wood burner a few months ago, and looked into the process of fitting my own stove. The stove fitters manual became my bible to understanding the process the safety and the regulations. Julian's guide is the one stop shop for stove fitting. When it came to ordering a stove I looked at prices elsewhere before realising that Julian not only gave great advice, he gave great prices too. I ended up buying the stove and flue pipe from the stove fitters warehouse. The order arrived promptly, all in one piece and all parts are high quality. Stove is now fitted and looks brilliant. I would never consider any other wood burner retailer in the future.
