Stove profiles

Hi Chris,

I think this is the thing to look at next.

The first part that one fits to a stove is important. Coming off the top of the stove is fairly easy. One can go straight to vitreous pipe. As long as one treats a stove collar and vitreous the same then one can attach twin wall to either as long as a vitreous to twin wall adaptor is used (sometimes called "single to twin adaptor).

Hence we have the "warnings" I sent on another document

But coming off the rear of the stove starts to get a little more complicated. You cannot just stick a length of pipe on because it would be pointing horizontally (see image below):

PICTURE BELOW SHOULD SAY 45 DEGREE ELBOW!!!!

PICTURE ABOVE SHOULD SAY 45 DEGREE ELBOW!!!!
So off the rear we have two choices only.

As you can see things are starting to get complicated!
Here is a suggestion (or have you any ideas?):
Before the stove is presented on screen the customer has to answer a question:
QUESTION 1: DO YOU WISH TO START YOUR FLUE PIPE OFF OF THE TOP OF THE STOVE OR THE REAR OF THE STOVE?
If customer says top then we just proceed as we do at the moment (the present stove profiles are fine and stove is as it is.
BUT IF THE CUSTOMER SAYS "REAR" THEN ANOTHER QUESTION:
What is the first part you wish to add to the stove (ignore any adaptors between the stove and the first part as these will be auto added)?
The app then chooses from a database of stove drawings and uses the appropriate one (e.g. drawing with first stove part already attached as a "starter"). Each drawing is a combination of "parts" that can be added to the list of goods (parts list). E.g.
If it is a "rear" entry stove user gets these choices
Vitreous pipe
5" 90 degree Vitreous T with soot door.
6" 90 degree Vitreous T with soot door.
5" 45 degree Vitreous Elbow
6" 45 degree Vitreous Elbow

Twin Wall pipe
5" 90 degree Twin Wall T with soot door
6" 90 degree Twin Wall T with soot door
5" 45 degree Twin Wall Elbow
5" 45 degree Twin Wall Elbow
Note that we would need the usual warnings to apply (so if somebody tries to choose a 5" pipe for a 6" stove it is red or a 6" on a 4" stove an amber with a note that a part has been added etc.
Ideally their choice should be "noted somwhere in case they forget what they chose (e.g. Starting point: Rear of stove +90 degree Vitreous Tee
I think if somebody presses remove element then eventually they will get to  the point when they remove the stove & first part combo. Then the "question " comes back
QUESTION 1: DO YOU WISH TO START YOUR FLUE PIPE OFF OF THE TOP OF THE STOVE OR THE REAR OF THE STOVE?
Hope all of this makes sense.
When it comes to "off the rear" I am trying as a rule to simplify for the customer. They answer one question and the stove and correct adaptor and first part are chosen for them and presented as the first stage of their "create a chimney" journey.
Hope it all makes sense.
Kind regards,
