The Isle of Wight is where this extremely popular stove is manufactured making it an ideal choice for those requiring "Made in Britain". It is rumoured that the Charnwood C4 is the number one selling stove within the United Kingdom. An innovative rear adaptor is available and this is very useful if the stove is to be fitted into a shallow recess. Charnwood request six inches of air gap left and right of the stove and so a narrow recess may not be ideal.
This will be the second stove in our which we chose predominantly for aesthetic reasons, rather than as a main source of heat. Having considered just about every conceivable stove on the market, we found the C4 to be certainly one of the prettiest stoves available, especially with the 'almond' paint finish and the wooden handle really does set it apart. Environmental performance is very important to me and the C4 is an Eco Blu model (DEFRA approved) which meets relevant performance criteria as we live in a smoke control zone. The purchase process through Stovefitters Warehouse was an absolute pleasure with outstanding communication at every step, from order confirmation to delivery on the day. The stove does not come supplied with a pipe, however it does come with a good size spray can of manufacturers almond paint so that you can match your pipe to the stove. This also means that unlike enamelled stoves that may chip with age, the C4 can be simply touched up if it ever becomes marked. I've only had it lit once since the install last week (Due to the summer heat!) but the performance appears good so far and we are absolutely delighted every time we walk past it. Highly recommended!
Brilliant stove. Lovely looking and very effective. Good service from Stovefitters Warehouse too!
Bought a Charnwood C4 with complete installation package. Great advice prior to purchase and everything arrived quickly and all in one piece. Doing my own install from scratch, so the comprehensive fitting advice has been invaluable. I love the Stovefitters Warehouse! Would definitely recommend and use again.
Firstly, I was very happy with the order and delivery provided by Stovefitters. No issues whatsoever. Regarding the stove I am also happy. Looks really great and appears to be well manufactured. Love the stay cool handle and the mechanism attached to it for operating the door lock - really nice design. It's installed in my lounge, which is 6x5 meters and not particularly well insulated at the moment. The heat output though is more than sufficient to keep it nice and cosy even with the cold weather we have had recently. The window of the stove is a nice size. The only minor negative comment I can think of is that the air wash isn't as efficient as I wood like. Only keeps around 40% of the glass totally clean but I find that as long as I don't leave it too long between cleans it's not a big effort to clean every few days. All in all very happy with my choice of stove and supplier.
These guys totally rock, customer service and friendly advice are second to none!
From a happy stove fitter : )
