Saltfire ST2 (5kW+) Stove

 ABOUT THIS STOVE

As you can see the ST2 is a big hit with furry friends! (thanks to our lovely customer for sending that image).

Big glass, big firebox, modern styling, three air controls... ticks all the right boxes.
The Saltfire St2 often tops our best seller list amongst the budget Chinese stoves that we sell and for that reason we bow down before it every morning as we enter the office.

Is it all good? No. The ash pan is very tiny. The stove is light and the steel is thin (so will not last as long as other stoves as all stoves gradually rust from the inside out) . Three year guarantee not as long as other brands. Great for the price though.

Saltfire ST2 (5kW+) Stove 2018 Ecodesign Ready Model

I've always wanted a wood stove and I bought it from the stove fitters warehouse. I followed the steps in the DIY manual and everything was straightforward.

I love my stove, it's like a furnace when you open up all the vents.

I reckon I've saved at least a grand by going the DIY route.

Thanks stove fitters warehouse!

I found the https://www.stovefitterswarehouse.co.uk and matching http://www.stovefittersmanual.co.uk websites an absolute mine of useful information which guided me in my decision to go ahead and fit my own stove and decide on which stove to buy.
The Saltfire ST2 is a G R E A T stove for the money and the Stove Fitters materials voucher made ordering the best liner and hanging cowl that much more affordable.
Fitting was straightforward as long as you are bit practical and don't mind working at a hight. Work out exactly what you need to do up high so you can get up and on with it straight away. It's cold on a roof in December!!
Major tip on installing the liner ~ make certain you are safe, work out how you are not going to fall off the roof and kill yourself!
Second tip ~ I tied a plastic 2 pint milk bottle onto the end of the line going down the chimney (full of water). It's reasonably small in section and weighs over a kilo!
I used to 45º bends to get the ST2 away from the back wall and this was simple and effective.
Once installed, I took lots of photos for the Building Inspector, the BC inspector called round and declared a job well done.
Commissioning the Saltfire was simple if you follow the instructions o I found the https://www.stovefitterswarehouse.co.uk and matching http://www.stovefittersmanual.co.uk websites an absolute mine of useful information which guided me in my decision to go ahead and fit my own stove and decide on which stove to buy.

Saltfire ST2

We've had this stove for two years now and it is brilliant. We couldn't recommend it enough. I remember ringing Stovefitters before we bought it and they provided first rate customer service and advice.

Great little stove

We have found this stove to be just the job. We were after something that would not frazzle people sitting close to it but that would nevertheless generate enough heat to warm the room... And this stove fits the bill perfectly. Here are the pluses and minuses:
Pros...
- Easy to light
- Good air-flow control
- Glass doesn't smoke up much
- looks great (particularly on the log store base)
- Convects well (doesn't rely just on radiating the heat)
Cons:
-Small ashpan needs emptying before each use.
