The ST3 is WOOD ONLY and is a larger version of the 5kw Saltfire Vision. 3-year guarantee.
The Saltfire ST3 woodburner stove represents great value in a market full of cheap poor quality stoves and over-priced, over-engineered stoves at the other end of the market. It is simple to use, attractively styled and very efficient. Heat output is remarkable and it has quickly become a focul point of our home. You don’t want to buy a stove which is frustrating to use because it is badly made or to buy one which costs more to buy than you will ever save in heating bills. This stove is the answer to getting a way of heating your home efficiently and economically with wood.
Many thanks to Stove Fitter’s Warehouse for all their help.
Regards, John Bruton (order number 7201)
Talked through my choice of stove with Stove Fitters Warehouse and they were very helpful and advised on the best arrangement of chimney pieces for the yurt I was fitting it into. Everything arrived on time and I fitted it all without any issues. It's now been lit a few times and is working perfectly. All in all, I'm very pleased.
I ordered the Saltfire ST3 as my wife liked the look, I liked the heat output, and it seemed fair value for money. We bought from Stovefitters primarily because of the comprehensive self-installation website that Julian created which gave me confidence to do the installation myself.
One minor issue with delivery, the flue liner and bits arrived but after a week, no sign of the stove itself. Phoned stovefitters and apparently it was at the local depot but no-one had contacted us. They sorted it out and stove arrived next day.
Installation went fairly smoothly apart from an obstruction in the existing concrete liner, and I'm now waiting for the plasterer before I can finish the final fit. Stove looks good but did arrive with one broken fire brick. Replacement was quickly sent, that despite excellent packaging also arrived broken, Currently awaiting 2nd replacement.
Throughout the service from stovefitters has been excellent
From first enquiry to installation troubleshooting Justin has been a pleasure to deal with and very, very helpful.
We opted for a Saltfire ST3 with Duraflue liner and fitting pack after consultation with Justin. This stove met our budget and fireplace needs and we have not been disappointed as the stove looks great and is far sturdier than expected at this price.
Everything arrived promptly and intact (though communication from the couriers could have been a bit better) and more importantly fitted together! We encountered some issues with decommissioning the old gas fire and we're thankful for Justin's guidance. Now all we need is some proper cold weather to test it out.
Self installed a saltfire st3 wodd burning stove with duraflue chimney liner and twinwall stainless flue. My chimney stack was reduced below roofline in the attic and Aaron supplied everything i needed to complete the job. It is a
fantastic stove eith a large firebox and big viewing glass to watch the beautiful flames dance around. The paint curing took approx two good burns to remove the smell of paint fumes(luke a plastic smell) and just a note to anyone getting a st3 the fumes will set off your smoke alarm so when setting for your first big burn open the windows to allow plenty of ventilation and let the fumes and smell away. The heat output from the st3 is fantastic it heats the entire house and the chimney breast is warm all night after a good burn. I have been burning a mixture of seasoned birch, beech, ash and oak with some kiln dried ash and birch. The kiln dried wood is so easy to light one firelighter to get you started and its away immediately. Just to give you an example we live in Glasgow and this week 06/11/16 we had s few nights of -2 with sharp frosts and even snowfall on the 8th, the only time we have used the gss heating is first thing in the morning until we fire up the saltfire st3. Once it gets going i opeb the living room door and it warms the whole house no problem. I think the savings on gas will more than pay for the stove and flue within one winter. I knew the stove would warm the living room and downstairs but i have to say its better than i thought it would be.
Just a few tips to anyone getting an st3.
1. Be careful when using the free silver fire mit which comes with the stove, when i was curing the paint in my first big burn i touched the door with the mit and it left a silver mark on the door right below the handle. It is easily done so be careful.
2. Dont be tempted to tighten the screws which hold the glass in place they are set in factory and if you over tighten them your glass will crack once the temperature in firebox build...
