Order #20154
Started from scratch - almost zero knowledge about wood burning stoves. Almost bought a second hand one cheap, then went for a walk and thought "Regulations! - best to check that first". Subsequently came accros this oasis of information called THE STOVE FITTERS MANUAL. For the sake of some careful reading / thinking / double measuring + an ounce of common sense and re-visiting of the on-line manual a few times it was all straight forward. The fact that the manual is so thorough is a huge advantage - You can feel "safe" with these guys - hence I bought the stove from them. Every time I came up with a query I could find the answer after a bit of re-reading.
Some specific points for my installation were:
* We pulled the liner up through the chimney having laid it out on the kitchen floor, rather than pulling it down to avoid fighting at height with the liner and gravity.
*I bought the kit to attach underneath the DG5 to connect a direct source of outside air which is brilliant. Ideally I would have liked to use the rear exit adaptor to avoid seeing the 8cm ducting underneath but didn't have enough space.
*I made up a heat shield from a bit of galvanised pig ark (yes I'm a farmer) leaving a gap and I think Bob is probably my uncle !
Good luck you guys you are doing a fabulous job
