How much does it cost to have a wood burning stove fitted?

1. Create a Large Fireplace from a Small One

Make good inc. plastering chimney breast. Create simple slate hearth, fit stove and line chimney with stainless steel liner.

Typical cost by shop or stovefitter: £1,850 to £2,500 (plus stove). DIY: Stove cost plus £300 (as a guide) using the Stove Fitter’s Store (so £699 with a Saltfire ST2 5kw).

2. HT Chimney (silver or black insulated flue for when no chimney exists), Fit Hearth, Fit Stove

Typical cost by shop or stovefitter: £2,400 to £3,000 (plus stove) but a little more if black twin wall reqd. DIY: material costs approx. £800-£1,200 (plus stove) but a little more if black twin wall reqd.

3. As Scenario 1 but Inglenook and Hearth Already in Place

Typical cost by shop or stovefitter: £1,000 -£1,200 (plus stove). DIY: material costs approx. £300 (plus stove).
